The Houston Chronicle notes that churches are again beginning to be attacked and burned down right here in the good old US of A. Five East Texas Churches have been burned in the past month alone. All the usual law enforcement officials are on the case. Read more here.
The Girl On The Right has an interesting article giving a good followup to my earlier islamic treatise from last week. From the article:
It got me to thinking about Islam as a death cult, which it is. Many cults deemed dangerous to greater society are banned, freedom of religion notwithstanding. Any cult that puts vast numbers of their own women and children in danger get busted up, Janet Reno riding the gun of a tank Dr. Strangelove style, for the greater good. Children are taken in by government agencies. Possession of weapons is prohibited. Visas and other government-issued documents are withheld. But Islam seems to get a special pass.
Some really good stuff over there even if you’re not “on the right”.
I watched a documentary on the 20th anniversary of the Simpsons TV Show. This Catholic League president Bill Donohue really got worked up into a lather at the show for a number of reasons, surmising that The Simpsons “eats away at the moral prestige of the Catholic Church”.
I’ve just one thing to say to Mr. Donahue… ummm.. .It’s a cartoon.
The Daily Press tells us from the AP wire of a church in Roanoke, VA splitting over the decision to allow openly gay clergy. The issue of gays being able to serve in an organization diametrically opposed to their lifestyle seems to be a rising issue in America.
It appears our favorite adherents to the “religion of peace” are at it again. This time, they’re miffed about Christians using the name “Allah” to refer to “God”. They’er out there firebombing and spray-painting churches (how peaceful).
Just to be sure you understand. From the Koran:
4:089 They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them
4:091 If they keep not aloof from you nor offer you peace nor hold their hands, then take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Against such We have given you clear warrant.
9:123 Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you.
Hmm… peaceful. I don’t think so.
It appears that if you want to keep track of your favorite cults and secret societies that you can do that very thing on your own iPhone. TechRepublic has an article that links you to “The Encyclopedia of Secret Societies, Sects, & Cults”.
Thrills. Now I can keep up with loonies “on the go”.
It would appear that our lovable Pagan friends have ties to our also lovable brothers of the Masonic order! A very interesting blog entry regarding the ties between Freemasonry and the “old religion” or “Wicca” are described and discussed. There’s a couple of leaps in logic in the article, but rather than pontificate, I’ll let you judge.
My what the Catholic church finds itself involved in:
A North Carolina priest has been accused of molesting a boy.
Child trafficking survivors are suing some Catholic religious orders.
A group of Ugandan upstart priests are just plain getting married.
Maybe at some later date I’ll go into detail regarding Catholicism and it’s wonderfully storied history, but for now just be content with the content. ;)
It appears that the Gay/Lesbian community is dead set on moving into areas traditionally reserved for the old American cliche’. (house, car, lovely wife, 2.5 kids and a dog). It appears that not only are they pushing an agenda to get marriage between gay couple recognized, but they are also pushing as hard as they can into an area that flat out does not want them there… the churches.
Churches, if they’re doing their job, are typically against the gay lifestyle (much less marriage) due to specific and stark admonitions against same-sex sexual behavior in the Bible itself. There’s a lot of arguments on both sides…I think we all realize that. However, if you’re going to call yourself Christian, you must read the book. The book clearly tells you not to engage in homosexual activity in a myriad of ways. From the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah for the homosexual and hedonistic lifestyles of it’s inhabitants, to the story Paul tells us of people who began to engage in homosexual activity and received some sort of physical malady as a result of that behavior (just to name two), you can see a clear rejection of the gay lifestyle for a professing, acting Christian.
So, many gays try to pressure the church politically to accept them both in their laity and their clergy.
I don’t know about you folks, but when I’m not wanted somewhere, I go elsewhere. I don’t continually foist my presence where it’s clearly not wanted. I instead “make-do” and find another way to “Live at peace with all men”.
That brings me to the story of the gay agenda in regards to religion. InterstateQ blatantly espouses an “agenda” to “face the issue of religion and use it to (their) advantage.” Instead of recognizing that their choice to live in a fashion contrary to Biblical teachings has placed them in this particular conundrum, they would rather emphasize and perpetuate their lifestyle.
The article blathers on about “religion-based prejudice” and runs hard at taking a firm Biblical stance. Just to be clear, Romans 1 in several wordings:
“For this reason God gave them up to evil passions, and their women were changing the natural use into one which is unnatural: And in the same way the men gave up the natural use of the woman and were burning in their desire for one another, men doing shame with men, and getting in their bodies the right reward of their evil-doing” (BBE)
“That is why God left them to do the wrong things they wanted to do. Their women left the right way for women and did things that are wrong for women to do. Their men also left the right way with women. They wanted to have sex with one another. They did wrong things with other men. Their own bodies were punished because of the wrong things they did.” (BWE)
“That, I say, is why God abandoned them to degrading passions. Even the women among them perverted the natural use of their bodies to the unnatural; While the men, disregarding that for which women were intended by nature, were consumed with passion for one another. Men indulged in vile practices with men, and incurred in their own persons the inevitable penalty for their perverseness.” (TCNT)
I’m not willing to argue with God on this one.
